Spring Skin Prep

After a long harsh winter, spring has finally sprung! No doubt, you’re itching to switch out your wardrobe for short sleeves, tanks and skirts-sans-tights like we are. And while this is a great feeling, winter may have left your skin itchy and dry. Time to prep with a spring skin scrubdown. Read on for silky and supple skin.

Face

Let’s start at the top, literally, with an at-home facial. If you don’t already own one, invest in an all-in-one deep cleansing and exfoliation brush like the Clarisonic Mia 3. It’s the ultimate to clear out pore build-up, which tends to happen tend fold in the upcoming hot months. Next, try a DIY mask to give your skin a little luster; here’s a link to our favorite. If your skin is still feeling dry, lather on a moisturizing mask.

Body

Pretend you’re at the spa by taking a steam shower. To replicate the experience a little more closely, add essential oils of lavender or eucalytpus to your bathroom. Like with your face, cleanse and moisturize thoroughly. Post-shower, apply a light moisturizer as usual. Now here’s where the magic happens! Once the moisturizer has set in, apply virgin coconut oil all over the body, from head to toe, paying special attention to the elbows and knees. Be sure to let dry thoroughly before getting dressed.

Feet

Open-toe season can also be called pedicure season. If your feet are super calloused, we recommend going to a spa for an upgraded pedicure that includes extra callous removal and a moisturizing wrap. If your feet are in pretty good condition and just need a little TLC, try this DIY pedicure.
