Halloween Do’s and Don’ts:
Halloween at the office can be tricky. Not only do you have to avoid eating all the candy in sight, you also have to think about a costume that’s office appropriate. Zombies or vampires may freak out your boss, while a sexy nurse costume can have you sent to HR.
Here, a guide to our Do’s and Don’ts for getting it right when it comes to office Halloween.
- Go for a straightforward costume idea, like a black cat. Pair our Straight Leg Pant with Tuxedo Stripe with a fitted black tee and the Long Lean Blazer in Black; top it off with black cat ears and tip your nose with black makeup.
- Get into the groove of a 1980’s Madonna-inspired look. Our Knit Top With Mesh Panels when worn over our Coated Seamed Leggings recreates the style. Add lots of jewelry, some fishnet gloves, big hair, major red lips and pumps to enhance it.
- Become the fashion police by wearing our Suede Panel Sheath Dress with a gold star sheriff’s badge, police hat and other accouterments.
- If you have a sexy character in mind, go for a demure version. Our Curved Seam Fit And Flare Dress in Raspberry works well for a more covered-up Jessica Rabbit ensemble. Add the red wig, purple gloves and red pumps.
Don’t choose store-bought costumes that have the word “sexy” in its name, save those for your nighttime Halloween parties.
Don’t wear thigh highs or a corset to the office.
Don’t wear a mask that covers your entire face. You still have to do business and you need your coworkers to recognize you.
