Mynt News: Transitional Shopping List
Posted: Oct 17 2014
If March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb, the opposite could be said for October. Every year the month starts with the heat of September’s Indian summer and ends with a cool, windy Halloween. It’s the official summer to fall transition. And while it’s an exciting and scenic time, on most days the weather fluctuates from cold mornings to a warm afternoon and back down again to an evening chill.
As women on the go, October’s schizophrenic weather may leave you wondering what to wear for full days of nippy morning commutes, workwear and happy hours. Don’t fret. As always, Mynters, we’ve got you covered. Check out our Fall Transition Shopping List, which includes the pieces you need to changeover your wardrobe with the season.

Blazers for layering
Blazers are basically your BFF right now. They can be worn over any look, including dresses, button down shirts and sweaters while adding an extra layer of warmth. It’s also the best way to extend the life of your favorite summer dress. Try layering the Open Front Blazer over a comfy cardigan. When the warmer afternoon weather hits, slip it off until the cooler nighttime temperature returns.
Some colors simply translate between seasons better than others. When you invest in a great jacket in a basic color, it suddenly becomes season-less. Opt for shades of gray, tan and of course black. Our pick is the Knit Jacket With Lace Detail, which adds a sleek fall look in a lighter summer color.
Now is the time to start covering up your gams and going for tights with dresses and skirts. Instead of mourning this transition, we say embrace it with patterned or colorful tights. The key in getting this look right is to pair embellished stockings with a simpler bottom or dress. Try pairing the Curved Seam Fit And Flare Dress or Fit And Flare Skirt with wild patterns or colors.
Now that your shorts are stored away until next summer, turn to leggings for your go-to casual look. The reason you’ll live in them is because they look great with basic tees, and any type of jacket while also being super comfortable. Reach for a tailored pair in a lux fabric, like our Coated Seamed Legging.
