MYNT NEWS: Match Point
Posted: Aug 29 2014
They say what goes around comes around. With the mod look in full effect, it should come as no surprise that the matchy-matchy look of the 1960’s is back as one of 2014’s biggest trends. Yes, we’re talking head-to-toe matching prints. And while we’re big fans of the look, it’s one that can admittedly go awry.
From our pre-fall collection, the Alia Printed Bomber paired with the Harper Printed Pant makes one chic and modern matchy statement. Here’s why the look works and tips on how you can wear matching tops and bottoms.
Choose modern silhouettes
Don’t go retro when it comes to pairing prints. Keep the look au courant with modern shapes, like our Alia Bomber and dressed-up Harper drawstring pants, as opposed to the shift dresses with matching blazer of yesteryear.
Give it a break
When wearing a super-coordinated outfit, break up the monotamy by injecting a solid piece under the bomber. Our choice is a basic tee or a let a little bit of skin show with a crop top.
Since the look is naturally irreverent, have fun with accessories! Go for big, oversized earrings. Don’t be shy with stacking on bracelets and bangles. Or for a double dose of trendy looks, pile on the midi rings. And the topper – a fabulous clutch.
